Week 1, session 1 (2nd phase)

C'etait dur de garder le meme niveau d'intensite pendant 1hr 1/2!
Boy that was hard. Keeping the same level was though. Note the cadence going slowly down through the 90 mn for similar heart rate...

Nice work again David,

This set is designed to get you really thinking about your effort on the bike. Can you imagine holding that same intensity for 5.5hrs in an attempt to set you up for a good run??
some other things to consider
Were you still comfortable in the TT position after 1.5hrs?
do you think you could of still upped the effort if you had to at the end of this session? Did you have plenty of reserves left in the tank?

These will help you fine tune your training in terms of addressing your weaknesses.

P.S lactic acid doesn't cause fatigue, lack of calories on the day won't either, poor pacing in terms of intensity and mental arousal and lack of IM specific training will. address those and you'll be covering your bases.
