Swim meet in Paris/ Open EDF Natation

Incroyable le nombre d'anciens que j'ai vu hier - et cela fait bizarre de les voir avec un chrono en main.

I went with Olivier to a swim meet yesterday. With all the FRench swim stars...

Left is Franck Esposito, one of the greatest butterflyer in the world a few years back. Right is Eric Rebourg. A talented backstroke whom I trained with in Font-Romeu. Both are coaching now.

Les frères Leroux, Patrick à gauche, un ex de Font-Romeu, et Robert, escrimeur médaillés international. Tous 2 sont managers d'Alain Bernard.

Patrick, on the left, former swimmer from Font-Romeu, andRobert whom some swimming, Modern pentathlon because becoming VERY successful in Fencing. They are Alain Bernard managers.

ACBB, ou Boulogne Billancourt. A droite, le coach, Philippe et à gauche Lionel Chalendar, torpille nucléaire chez les masters!

Lionel (Chalend') has become an incredible masters swimmer while Philippe is still coaching in my former team in Boulogne Billancourt.
Font-Romeu mafia - Font-Romeu is my high school town - altitude training center. And people here spent quite a long time there.

The 2 guys are coaching there now (Richard on the left, Eric, blue shirt).

Anne-Marie, on the right, was my coach. She made me as a swimmer. Eric trained under both Anne-Marie, and then Richard.

Un bon dimanche

Une belle journée, ce dimanche. Même c'est parti de travers de bon matin. 

"A cause" d'Olivier, je suis rentré tard (on vu Millenium - thriller assez sombre...) et n'ai pas émergé pour rejoindre José (ooops). 

Nice day, even if I over slept, skipping the morning ride w/José...

So I headed to Beauvais to watch Greg Rouault race, as a pro.

Me voilà donc parti pour Beauvais, pour encourager Greg Rouault, avec sa famille et amis. Séb, ancien nageur du CNO St Germain, MON maintenant, sera au Meeting EDF de la semaine prochaine.

I met with Greg's family & friends to cheer him up. Note Seb, his brother, Beijing Olympian, right in the middle.
Ain't the best picture of Greg (in blue & yellow), but I just love the guy's expression: what's the...? Greg finished in the top 10 in spite being pushed back in the peleton at the end of the bike. He made up at least 20 spots over the 5km run. The guy is fast, even faster than Hiro!

Regardez tête du gars qui se fait déposer par Greg (en jaune et bleu)... Ca a frictionné dur à la fin du vélo, Greg est arrivé en plein dans le paquet de poursuite (ald d'être sur le devant du paquet). Au moins, il est resté dans la course! Au grand désespoir des autres...
Impressionnant de voir toutes les stars, les 2 verts Gomez (ESP) et l'anglais sont les meilleurs du circuit mondial...

Tough competition - check out the Spaniard Gomez and his European rival from UK (sorry, for the name) - both are in green.

Egalement en vert, notre fidèle participant d'Ishigaki (qui s'est souvenu de moi et des français nippons), Cédric Fleurton.

Poupoule, ou Stéphane Poulat, toujours là, malgrès un tri long distance la semaine passée. Et bien placé le bougre!

And if there is Poupoule (Stéphane's nickname), there must be Angie - we went to high school together. She's with Enzo, their surfer son...

Et si Poupoule est là, il y a de bonnes chances de voir Angie (une ancienne de Font-Romeu)... avec leur garçon Enzo, passionné de surf...

Olivier birthday party - Fête d'annif' d'Olivier

Here we are at Park Asterix (famous cartoon character) to celebrate Olivier's birthday with a bunch of his friends... Good opportunity to finally meet them (after soon many years away).
